3rd Anniversary of the Ecommerce Manager Blog. A short summary and conclusions from the last 12 months of blogging and cooperation with stores on Shopify in Poland.
Over the past 2023, the blog has been publishing much more materials about Shopify technology. With greater or lesser regularity, I try to collect the most important information for you that appears in connection with the development of Shopify in Poland. The blog has also featured several new Case Studies from implementations for online stores that I had the pleasure of working with in 2023 (mainly Shopify PLUS). The number of blog readers and time spent on the site has also increased, for which I thank you very much. 🙂
The biggest change came in the form of project cooperation. Currently, I no longer work as an Ecommerce Manager on a full-time basis, but I focused on working with several ecommerce companies as a freelancer. I must admit that this form of cooperation brings me a lot of satisfaction and joy from being able to help. in E-commerce development, for more than one company.
Another change on the Ecommerce Manager blog is the change in the form of content. More content will now be available in multimedia form, and the blog will remain more for presenting elements in graphic form, e.g. Case Studies, Screenshots, or Guides and instructions. The main areas that I had the pleasure of developing in 2023, and therefore the conclusions that I would like to share with you are: 1. Interim Ecommerce Management 2. Implementation and development of stores on Shopify and 3. Implementation and improvement of retention (marketing automation) .
1. Interim E-commerce Management
At the beginning of 2023, there was a visible slowdown in the number of purchases and the value of customer baskets. We had several geopolitical factors, such as the economic slowdown after the coronavirus, war and parliamentary elections, which affected the decline in sales. The end of the year - i.e. Q4, allowed us to generate among stores with which I cooperated achieved appropriate sales results that made it possible to cover the weaker months at the beginning of 2023.
2. Shopify stores in Poland
There is also a growing interest in Shopify in Poland , which is good news for customers who use or want to use this technology. In 2023 alone, there were 3 official, direct payment integrations ( Przelewy24, PayPo, Tpay ). The new year will bring new changes in the Shopify market worldwide, but we will find out about this soon with Shopify Winter Edition. In 2024, new integrators for Polish payments will probably also appear. However, it is not known when Shopify Payments will appear in Poland.
3. Retention
Marketing automation is still a proven way to increase retention (frequency) of orders in an online store. In particular, implementing and developing marketing automation has proven to be effective in industries where repeat purchases are cyclical (e.g. Grocery, Beauty, Health & Wellness). In the context of Shopify Currently, the best integrated tool is Klaviyo and it enables the most in terms of methods for implementing marketing automation, or the types of information sent between Shopify.
This year I would like to focus more on multimedia forms that will be more attractive to receive in the form of a podcast or video. 🙂 The blog will serve as a base for supplementing multimedia content in the form of graphics, checklists or screenshots.
