Why do you think stores run promotions?
Out of the goodness of your heart, so you could buy all these great products cheaper?
We both know that stores are not charities, if they do something they make a profit. But you think to yourself - what profit, they sell cheaper.
I don't know if you know that before I became Beata od Oszczędzania I worked in a clothing chain . For 13 years I had all the positions from salesperson to regional manager. I also had all the training in marketing, sales and visual merchandising. In short - " not with me these numbers Bruner " - I know them all.
If it's not out of the goodness of their hearts that they're giving away milk or oranges, then why? Is it even worth it to them?
Here is a quote from an article published on portalspożywczy.pl
“Discount store customers have the highest rate of visits to stores after viewing a leaflet,” according to an analysis published by Blix. It is the leaflets of discount stores that trigger the greatest purchasing impulse and most often translate into final purchases in stores […]
55% of discount customers, after viewing a leaflet in the Blix application, make purchases in brick-and-mortar stores. There is a group of hard shoppers in this segment, whose representatives come to their favorite stores at least 3 times a week. For example, for two leaders in the discount segment - Lidl and Biedronka - hard shoppers constitute a group of as much as 37 %. This is a very large and loyal group"
Promotions are a lure, a bait, and a promotional leaflet is a fishing rod. Is it worth it for stores? Of course, because even if they have a very low margin on a given product, the probability that you will leave buying only that one product on sale is zero, right?
That's what promotions are for on basic products like milk or fruit. They attract people to the store.
There is also a second type of promotion – increasing the average receipt. These are offers for “luxury” products. Such as themed weeks or chocolates in golden boxes with a big red “discount” price tag.
Everyone dreams of a bit of luxury , or a trip to Greece, even just mentally, eating a Greek salad with “original feta” and olives. And when it still has a red price and the info “while supplies last…
And let's be honest, do you know the regular price of "original feta"? If not, how do you know that this promotion is worth it?
You need to have a good shopping planning system that will not only help you limit the number of visits to the store, but most importantly, find space for what you need in your budget without tightening your belt.
I created mine based on years of experience in trade and years of practice in a frugal lifestyle. And you know, it's not at all very difficult to understand and implement. Because everyone has a life to manage and systems should make it easier for us, not add work.
That's exactly my thrifty system - a few simple steps and suddenly the whole thing starts to come together. The basic element of this puzzle is good instructions and convenient tools. You can find both in my latest course I plan my shopping - I save money
This week it has a premiere price of PLN 37. This investment will pay off on your next visit to the store.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to write to me. Remember that the promotional price is valid only until Thursday. Don't delay, because you can spend less on your next purchases without tightening your belt.
